Role Overview & Responsibilities

As a UPS Morning Package Handler on the preload shift, you sort overnight inbound volume and build outbound package car loads during the 4:00 AM to 8:30 AM window — working against the driver arrival deadline to ensure every delivery vehicle in the building is fully loaded, correctly sequenced, and ready for the 8:45 AM departure window inside our package center.

  • Pre-Dawn Inbound Belt Processing: Process overnight linehaul volume from the inbound conveyor belt beginning at 4:00 AM — pulling packages from the belt and routing them to the correct package car, cage, or route position using the eDDR load chart reference and barcode scanner, working at a sustained pace that keeps the belt flowing without backup during the pre-peak induction window from 4:00 to 6:30 AM.
  • Sequence Load Construction Under Deadline: Build the outbound package car load in exact stop-by-stop delivery sequence against the driver's 8:45 AM departure deadline — placing packages with label-out orientation on the correct shelf position, prioritizing air-committed NDA and 2DA packages into their designated air shelf positions before any ground package enters the vehicle, and completing the load walk-around inspection before the driver checks in.
